The 1911 Revolution and Independence
The 1911 Xinhai Revolution led to the collapse of the Qing Dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China. Starting with the Wuchang Uprising on October 10, revolutionary forces quickly gained support across China. Provinces such as Hunan, Shaanxi, Jiangxi, Shanxi, and Yunnan declared independence from Qing rule.
